Creating a Warm and Welcoming Environment

This committee’s primary responsibility is to help provide an encouraging environment for McSpedden’s staff and parents. This includes the following events and many more:

Tears and Cheers - Where Kinder parents come together and celebrate their child's first day of school with breakfast snacks and coffee
Parent Provided Lunches - signups utilized to bring lunch to your teacher or a staff member
Special Appreciation Days - These days celebrate non-classroom teachers staff members
Teacher Appreciation Week Activities
Different monthly activities including snacks, drinks, and small tokens of appreciation

Celebrating Staff Members

This year we will recognize our support staff during designated days throughout the year instead of assigning them to specific classrooms. This gives parents an opportunity to recognize and appreciate those staff members who make McSpedden such an incredible school. Participation is optional. Monthly birthdays will also be listed in the school newsletter and posted via Facebook. Remind parents via email of the following dates:

Custodial Staff Day- October 2nd, 2024 (1st Grade)
Special and Gifted Education Day - December 2nd, 2024 (2nd Grade)
School Counselor & Campus Coaches Day - February 3rd, 2025 (Kinder)
Crossing Guard Appreciation Day - February 7th, 2025
School Resource Officer Day - February 15th, 2025
School Librarian Day - April 4th, 2025 (Pre-K)
Administrative Professional (Office Staff) Day- April 23rd, 2025 (5th Grade)
School Principal’s Day - May 1st, 2025
Lunch Hero/Cafe Staff Day - May 2nd, 2025 (3rd Grade)
Teacher Appreciation Week - May 5th-9th, 2025
School Nurse Day- May 7th, 2025 (4th Grade)
